The children are the main reason for the NGO’s presence in the barrio. It’s a rough and dangerous place. The only protection that the ‘voluntarios’ have are some blue jackets bearing the name of their organisation. They spend a lot of time planning their visits to the children finding things for them to do and to make. Mobiles are a great favourite.
