A bus ride into the city costs around 1 Sol ($0.50 US) and it takes forever to negotiate all the speed bumps, to compete with all the other traffic and to pick up and drop off passengers. $0.50 is not much for us, but a fortune for the locals and yet the children are always neatly dressed when the go to school.
