In the mid-2000’s Annie Leibovitz had an exhibition in Zürich entitled “Strong Women”, and I thought why can’t I do the same, but on a more local level? Hence all my images are of ladies from Küssnacht - Fifty-three of them!

Title image Petra Gössi, Member of Parliament (then a Nationalrätin); Edith Schlömmer, hotel owner and manager; Jeannette Tanner, theater owner and show producer; Mega Imhof, actress, writer, entertainer; Margaret Hess, farmer’s wife and our ‘egg-lady’, every two weeks she drives around the village delivering fresh farm eggs; Rhea Baggenstos, Veterinarian - she only works with large animals, (can you imagine sticking a needle into a beast weighing almost 1000Kgs?); Nadia Tattersall, an all-round genius and organiser, and the brains behind the cultural centre in Küssnacht.
